VEM Contact Profiles

This feature allows you to offer your contacts the ability to update their own details...

It works like this :-

Using the VEM Template Editor, you add a [Manage Profile] link somewhere in your outgoing campaign email...

Your recipient clicks on this link and arrives at a page showing them information you hold and allowing them to update it...

That's it!

The great thing about it is that you define the page they see right there in another template. You choose which fields they can update*, and VEM simply adds the [Submit] button.

VEM renders the page, converting *updatable data-fields into appropriate HTML controls and ensuring constraints like: required,  min/max values/lengths, and email/url/phone formatting are enforced prior to submission.

And as VEM is rendering the page you can also add monitored links, filtered content, subscriptions etc. all on the same page...

Note: You can even use this feature to provide a fully personalised 'View this email online' link by choosing the same template as your outgoing message!

The pattern used for the web pages is customizable, but includes setting the page title from the template subject, and robust jQuery-based validation for attribute field formats, lengths and values set in CRM.

UpCommunications preferences: The range of standard attributes provided on the contact record [Admin] tab is more than reasonable, and allows you to control what your contact gets sent and how - as long as these preferences are actively used and updated. What better way than offer for contacts to update manage their own communications preferences?

UpAre we addressing you correctly?: Incorrect (mailing) addresses can cause frustration headaches and cost money, as can resolving mis-deliveries. With this feature you can allow contacts to manage their own addresses. Even if auto-forwarded the way this feature works means that the intended recipient is able to correct their details for the future.

UpTracking & data collection: Using this feature in conjunction with the combination of custom attributes and simple attribute-change workflow can open powerful opportunities. For example, each time a contact updates a field, this can trigger a workflow that creates an instance of another entity.

UpOther VEM mark-up: You can add all the other VEM mark-up types to this online page, just as if had been emailed to your contact... So, for example, you can introduce filtered content that is only shown to contacts that are members of certain marketing lists, and you can add monitored links to track click-thrus, and a link to newsletter title subscriptions.
