VEM Delayed and Throttled Sending
The VEM Scheduler and VEM Processor workflows and associated
custom workflow activities are designed to support delayed
and batched-sending of email (quick) campaign activities and are fully customizable to meet your needs.
VEM Scheduler workflow is a simple way to trigger bulk email sendings out-of-hours,
which lessens the performance-hit impact on interactive users. You can easily
adjust the daily start and finish times when sendings are permitted. In order to
initially trigger this workflow use the on-demand toolbar option from the
Settings > Users grid.
After initial triggering this workflow calls itself every hour to verify if there
are more available sendings to process. Note that this is the default minimum
loop time before the CRM system starts counting loops (6) to protect against
excessive recursion. (Note: These Deployment Properties are adjustable)
VEM Processor workflow uses a number of custom activities to set batch sizes and
'back-off' to ensure that batches of emails are sent out in a predictable,
throttled manner.
